Description

Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal medication used to treat a variety of fungal infections, including athlete's foot, jock itch, and yeast infections. It is available over-the-counter and by prescription. Miconazole nitrate is a synthetic imidazole derivative that works by inhibiting the growth of fungi. It is effective against a wide range of fungal organisms, including Candida, Aspergillus, and Trichophyton. Miconazole nitrate is typically applied topically, but it is also available in oral and intravenous formulations. Miconazole nitrate is generally well-tolerated, but it can cause side effects such as skin irritation, burning, and itching.
