Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

Meclizine hydrochloride is an antihistamine used to prevent and treat motion sickness. It is also used to treat dizziness and vertigo. Meclizine hydrochloride is a derivative of the antihistamine chlorpromazine. It is thought to work by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical that is released in the body during allergic reactions. It is also thought to affect the balance system in the inner ear. Meclizine hydrochloride is available by prescription only. It is available as a tablet, chewable tablet, and oral solution.'
