Description

Angiotensin III: A heptapeptide formed from ANGIOTENSIN II after the removal of an amino acid at the N-terminal by AMINOPEPTIDASE A. Angiotensin III has the same efficacy as ANGIOTENSIN II in promoting ALDOSTERONE secretion and modifying renal blood flow, but less vasopressor activity (about 40%). Dosage Studied

Dose-response curves for AII and the (2-8) peptide [angiotensin III (AIII)] indicate that AII is a more potent inhibitor of renin release than is AIII. The inhibition induced by SC 19220 and acetyl salicylic acid was found to be higher for angiotens in III than angioten II.
