Description

n-Chlorotaurine is a chlorinated amino acid that is produced by the enzyme myeloperoxidase in neutrophils, a type of white blood cell. It is a potent oxidant and antimicrobial agent, and it has been shown to be effective against a variety of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. n-Chlorotaurine is also involved in the regulation of inflammation and immune responses. It has been studied for its potential therapeutic applications in a variety of conditions, including sepsis, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.
