Research Excerpts

Overview

Cyanoketone also acts as an inducer of hepatic mixed function oxidases, increasing cytochrome P-450 content and enhancing aniline hydroxylase and aminopyrine demethylase activities.

Treatment

Cyanoketone pretreatment protected female rats against digitoxin-induced mortality. Treatment did not alter the inhibitory effects of R1881 on LH receptors, indicating that the androgen action is not mediated by endogenous progestins.
