Description

robustaflavone: bis-apigenin coupled at 6 and 3' positions; a potential non-nucleoside anti-hepatitis B agent; [Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), National Library of Medicine, extracted Dec-2023]

robustaflavone : A biflavonoid that is obtained by oxidative coupling of two molecules of apigenin resulting in a bond between positions C-3 of the hydroxyphenyl ring and C-6 of the chromene ring. Isolated from Thuja orientalis and Rhus succedanea it exhibits antioxidant, cytotoxic and anti-hepatitis B activity. FloraRankFlora DefinitionFamilyFamily Definition
RhusgenusA plant genus of the family Anacardiaceae, order Sapindales, subclass Rosidae. It is a source of gallotannin (TANNIC ACID) and of somewhat edible fruit. Do not confuse with TOXICODENDRON which used to be part of this genus.[MeSH]AnacardiaceaeThe sumac plant family in the order Sapindales, subclass Rosidae, class Magnoliopsida. They are tropical and subtropical trees, shrubs, and woody vines that have resin ducts in the bark. The sap of many of the species is irritating to the skin.[MeSH]
ThujagenusA plant genus of the family CUPRESSACEAE.[MeSH]CupressaceaeA plant family of the order Pinales, class Pinopsida, division Tracheophyta. They are mainly resinous, aromatic evergreen trees.[MeSH]
Thuja orientalisspeciesFormerly called Biota orientalis.[MeSH]CupressaceaeA plant family of the order Pinales, class Pinopsida, division Tracheophyta. They are mainly resinous, aromatic evergreen trees.[MeSH]

Drug Classes (3)

ClassDescription
biflavonoidA flavonoid oligomer that is obtained by the oxidative coupling of at least two units of aryl-substituted benzopyran rings or its substituted derivatives, resulting in the two ring systems being joined together by a single atom or bond.
hydroxyflavoneAny flavone in which one or more ring hydrogens are replaced by hydroxy groups.
ring assemblyTwo or more cyclic systems (single rings or fused systems) which are directly joined to each other by double or single bonds are named ring assemblies when the number of such direct ring junctions is one less than the number of cyclic systems involved.
