Description

2,3-Diketogulonic acid (2,3-DKG) is a naturally occurring compound that is produced by the oxidation of L-gulonic acid. It is an important intermediate in the biosynthesis of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and it is also a potent antioxidant. 2,3-DKG has been shown to have a number of beneficial effects, including reducing oxidative stress, improving cardiovascular health, and boosting the immune system. It has also been studied for its potential use in the treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. 2,3-DKG is synthesized by a number of different methods, including chemical synthesis, enzymatic oxidation, and fermentation. It is typically used in the form of its calcium salt, calcium 2,3-diketogulonate, which is more stable and less prone to degradation than the free acid.'
