Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

5-Nitroquinoline is a heterocyclic compound with the formula C9H6N2O2. It is a pale yellow solid that is soluble in organic solvents. 5-Nitroquinoline is a potent mutagen and carcinogen. It is known to induce tumors in a variety of animal models. In humans, 5-Nitroquinoline has been linked to an increased risk of bladder cancer. 5-Nitroquinoline is synthesized by the nitration of quinoline. The reaction is typically carried out in concentrated nitric acid with sulfuric acid as a catalyst. 5-Nitroquinoline is studied because of its mutagenic and carcinogenic properties. The compound is used as a model system to investigate the mechanisms of carcinogenesis. It is also used as a probe to study the interactions between DNA and carcinogens. 5-Nitroquinoline is an important compound in the study of cancer. It is a potent mutagen and carcinogen that can be used to model the development of cancer. The compound is also used to study the interactions between DNA and carcinogens.'
