2-Anisidine, also known as o-anisidine, is an organic compound with the formula CH3OC6H4NH2. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. 2-Anisidine is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor and a rubber antioxidant. 2-Anisidine is a suspected human carcinogen and is classified as a hazardous substance by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). 2-Anisidine is studied because of its potential health risks, including cancer. It is also studied for its use in various industrial applications.'
