Neuromuscular processes controlling balance are complex and involve multiple systems working in coordination. The process begins with sensory input from various sources, including the inner ear (vestibular system), the eyes (visual system), and the muscles and joints (proprioceptive system). The cerebellum plays a crucial role in coordinating muscle movements, maintaining balance, and fine-tuning motor control. It receives information from the vestibular system, visual system, and proprioceptive system, and uses this information to generate appropriate motor commands.
