Diphenylditelluride is an organotellurium compound with the formula (C6H5)2Te2. It is a red solid. It has been studied as a potential reagent in organic synthesis and for its biological activity. One study found that diphenylditelluride can be used to catalyze the synthesis of various heterocycles, such as pyridines and quinolines. It has also been shown to exhibit antimicrobial and anticancer activity. Diphenylditelluride is also a reagent for the preparation of other organotellurium compounds, which are important intermediates in organic synthesis.'
