Description

3'-monoiodothyronine (T1) is a thyroid hormone analog that differs from thyroxine (T4) by the absence of iodine at the 5' position. It is an active metabolite of T4 and is produced in the thyroid gland and other tissues. T1 has a weaker affinity for the thyroid hormone receptor than T4, but it is still capable of exerting biological effects. T1 has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and neuroprotective effects. T1 is being investigated for its potential therapeutic uses in various diseases, including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and obesity. T1 is a powerful regulator of metabolism and development, and it plays an important role in maintaining normal physiological function.'
