Description

Prifelone is a synthetic, non-narcotic analgesic with anti-inflammatory activity. It is a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme that plays a role in the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in pain and inflammation. Prifelone is being studied for the treatment of pain, particularly in patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also being investigated for its potential to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer.'
