Description

4-benzoylpyridine is a heterocyclic compound with a carbonyl group attached to the pyridine ring at the 4-position. It is a colorless solid that is soluble in organic solvents. Its synthesis is often achieved via Friedel-Crafts acylation of pyridine with benzoyl chloride. 4-benzoylpyridine has been investigated for its potential as a pharmaceutical agent. It exhibits anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Its activity as a potential anti-cancer agent is also being explored. Its importance in research lies in its potential therapeutic applications and its ability to serve as a building block for other organic compounds.'
