Description

Isobutylparaben is an ester of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and isobutyl alcohol. It is a white crystalline solid that is commonly used as a preservative in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food products. Isobutylparaben is synthesized by reacting 4-hydroxybenzoic acid with isobutyl alcohol in the presence of a catalyst. Isobutylparaben has antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi, which makes it effective as a preservative. It is also known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Research on isobutylparaben focuses on its safety and efficacy as a preservative, as well as its potential health effects. Studies have shown that isobutylparaben can be absorbed through the skin and may have endocrine disrupting effects. However, the levels of isobutylparaben found in consumer products are generally considered to be safe. Isobutylparaben is studied to understand its potential risks and benefits, as well as to explore its use in new applications.'
