Description

2',3'-cyclic AMP, also known as 3',5'-cyclic AMP, is a cyclic nucleotide that plays a role in cellular signaling. It is formed by the action of adenylyl cyclase on ATP, and is broken down by phosphodiesterases. 2',3'-cyclic AMP has been shown to have a variety of effects on cells, including the activation of protein kinases, the regulation of gene expression, and the modulation of cell growth and differentiation. It is studied because of its potential role in a variety of diseases, including cancer and diabetes. Research into the synthesis and effects of 2',3'-cyclic AMP is ongoing.'
