Description

Tetrahydroaldosterone (THAldo) is a potent mineralocorticoid that is a major metabolite of aldosterone. THAldo has a longer half-life than aldosterone, and it is thought to contribute to the long-term effects of aldosterone. THAldo is synthesized in the adrenal glands, and it is released into the bloodstream. It then acts on the kidneys to promote the retention of sodium and water, and the excretion of potassium. THAldo is also thought to play a role in the regulation of blood pressure and the development of hypertension. It is studied for its potential role in the pathogenesis of hypertension, heart failure, and other cardiovascular diseases. Its biological activity is considered to be similar to that of aldosterone. It can be detected in urine and blood samples.'
