Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

Mono-n-butyltin (MBT) is an organotin compound that is widely used as a stabilizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. It is also used as a catalyst in the production of polyurethane foams. MBT is a colorless liquid that is soluble in most organic solvents. It is toxic to aquatic organisms and can bioaccumulate in the food chain. MBT is studied because of its potential environmental and health risks. It is also studied to develop new methods for its synthesis and to find alternative uses for this compound.'
