Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

Vinylene carbonate (VC) is a cyclic organic compound with the formula C3H2O3. It is a colorless liquid that is used as a solvent, a monomer in polymer synthesis, and as an electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries. VC can be synthesized by the reaction of acetylene with carbon dioxide. VC has been studied for its use in lithium-ion batteries because it has a high ionic conductivity and a wide electrochemical window. VC is also being investigated as a potential fuel additive and as a component of biodegradable polymers.'
