Description

2-(4-Chlorophenoxy)propionic acid, also known as clofibric acid, is a synthetic lipid-lowering drug. It is used to treat high cholesterol and triglycerides. Clofibric acid works by stimulating the breakdown of fats in the liver and by reducing the production of cholesterol. It is typically administered orally. Clofibric acid has been studied for its potential to treat a variety of other conditions, including diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. However, it has been associated with a number of side effects, including muscle pain, liver problems, and gallstones. Therefore, it is important to use clofibric acid only under the supervision of a healthcare professional.'
