4-iodoaniline
4-Iodoaniline is an organic compound with the formula C6H4(NH2)I. It is a white to light yellow solid. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other fine chemicals. 4-Iodoaniline can be synthesized by the reaction of aniline with iodine in the presence of a base. 4-Iodoaniline is a key starting material for the synthesis of many important pharmaceutical compounds, such as the anti-inflammatory drug celecoxib and the anti-cancer drug imatinib. It is also used in the synthesis of dyes, such as the blue dye indigo. 4-Iodoaniline is studied because it is a versatile building block for the synthesis of many different organic compounds. It is also used in the development of new synthetic methods.'
