tetracaine and Myopia

tetracaine has been researched along with Myopia in 6 studies

Tetracaine: A potent local anesthetic of the ester type used for surface and spinal anesthesia.
tetracaine : A benzoate ester in which 4-N-butylbenzoic acid and 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol have combined to form the ester bond; a local ester anaesthetic (ester caine) used for surface and spinal anaesthesia.

Myopia: A refractive error in which rays of light entering the EYE parallel to the optic axis are brought to a focus in front of the RETINA when accommodation (ACCOMMODATION, OCULAR) is relaxed. This results from an overly curved CORNEA or from the eyeball being too long from front to back. It is also called nearsightedness.

Trial Outcomes

Participants Score on Pain Scale

Do you have sharp pain in your eye? Pain will be assessed by units on a scale of 1-5: 1 means no symptoms, 2 means slight discomfort, 3 means mild discomfort, 4 means moderate discomfort, and 5 means severe discomfort (NCT01383200)
Timeframe: 1 hour (60minutes) post LASIK operation
