zopolrestat and Myocardial Ischemia

zopolrestat has been researched along with Myocardial Ischemia in 6 studies

zopolrestat: structure given in first source

Myocardial Ischemia: A disorder of cardiac function caused by insufficient blood flow to the muscle tissue of the heart. The decreased blood flow may be due to narrowing of the coronary arteries (CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE), to obstruction by a thrombus (CORONARY THROMBOSIS), or less commonly, to diffuse narrowing of arterioles and other small vessels within the heart. Severe interruption of the blood supply to the myocardial tissue may result in necrosis of cardiac muscle (MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION).

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"This study investigated whether aldose reductase (AR) inhibition with zopolrestat, either alone or in combination with an adenosine A(3)-receptor agonist (CB-MECA), reduced myocardial ischemic injury in rabbit hearts subjected to 30 min of regional ischemia and 120 min of reperfusion."1.31Aldose reductase inhibition alone or combined with an adenosine A(3) agonist reduces ischemic myocardial injury.
