thyroxine has been researched along with Coagulation Disorders, Blood in 5 studies
Thyroxine: The major hormone derived from the thyroid gland. Thyroxine is synthesized via the iodination of tyrosines (MONOIODOTYROSINE) and the coupling of iodotyrosines (DIIODOTYROSINE) in the THYROGLOBULIN. Thyroxine is released from thyroglobulin by proteolysis and secreted into the blood. Thyroxine is peripherally deiodinated to form TRIIODOTHYRONINE which exerts a broad spectrum of stimulatory effects on cell metabolism.
thyroxine : An iodothyronine compound having iodo substituents at the 3-, 3'-, 5- and 5'-positions.

"We analyzed the impact of levothyroxine treatment on lipid parameters, fibrinogen, platelet count, D-dimers, alpha2 antiplasmin activity, plasminogen activity, tissue plasminogen activator antigen (t-PA Ag), plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 antigen (PAI-1 Ag) and coagulation factors (factor VIII coagulant, von Willebrand factor antigen, von Willebrand factor and factor IX) in 23 patients with severe hypothyroidism (TSH level > 50 mU/ I)." | 9.11 | Effect of levothyroxine replacement therapy on coagulation and fibrinolysis in severe hypothyroidism. "Controversy remains as to the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) associated with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH), defined as an increased serum thyrotropin (TSH) concentration with normal free thyroxine and triiodothyronine levels." | 4.84 | Cardiovascular risk and subclinical hypothyroidism: focus on lipids and new emerging risk factors.
