thioctic acid and FMR1-Related Primary Ovarian Insufficiency

thioctic acid has been researched along with FMR1-Related Primary Ovarian Insufficiency in 2 studies

Thioctic Acid: An octanoic acid bridged with two sulfurs so that it is sometimes also called a pentanoic acid in some naming schemes. It is biosynthesized by cleavage of LINOLEIC ACID and is a coenzyme of oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (KETOGLUTARATE DEHYDROGENASE COMPLEX). It is used in DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Premature ovarian failure is a well-known side effect of conventional, low linear energy transfer (LET) cancer radiotherapy, but little is known about the effects of high LET charged particles on the ovary."1.46Very low doses of heavy oxygen ion radiation induce premature ovarian failure.
