tegafur and Glioblastoma

tegafur has been researched along with Glioblastoma in 3 studies

Glioblastoma: A malignant form of astrocytoma histologically characterized by pleomorphism of cells, nuclear atypia, microhemorrhage, and necrosis. They may arise in any region of the central nervous system, with a predilection for the cerebral hemispheres, basal ganglia, and commissural pathways. Clinical presentation most frequently occurs in the fifth or sixth decade of life with focal neurologic signs or seizures.

"Controlled, prospective, randomized studies were performed to evaluate the effects of 1-(4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidinyl)methyl-3- (2-chloroethyl)-3-nitrosourea hydrochloride (ACNU) and ACNU plus tegafur as additions to radiotherapy for the treatment of malignant gliomas."9.05[Evaluation of ACNU alone and combined with tegafur as additions to radiotherapy of the treatment of malignant gliomas--a cooperative clinical trial]. "Nineteen patients with brain tumors were orally administered 300 mg of UFT (a combination of FT and uracil with a molar ratio being 1:4) before operation and the concentrations of FT, 5-FU and Uracil in tumors and serum were measured by chemical assay."1.27[5-FU concentration in brain tumors after co-administration of FT and uracil].
