Ureteral Stone Mimicking Abnormal Sacral Uptake on 99mTc MDP Bone Scintigraphy: The Usefulness of SPECT/CT.
    Clinical nuclear medicine, 2019, Volume: 44, Issue:8

Bone tracer uptake related to ureteral stones has been reported several times before. We present a right ureteral stone mimicking abnormal focal sacral uptake on planar scan in a patient with rectal cancer. This case highlights the necessity of performing SPECT/CT to ascertain the origin of abnormal focal sacral uptake on planar scan, especially in patients with a history of kidney stones.

Serendipitous Ureteral Stone Revealed on 99mTc-MDP Bone Scintigraphy.
    Clinical nuclear medicine, 2018, Volume: 43, Issue:10

A 62-year-old man with esophageal cancer was referred for a Tc-MDP bone scintigraphy for staging. No metastatic lesion in the bone was identified. However, the images showed focally increased activity in the left pelvis, which were confirmed as ureteral stone on the SPECT/CT images.
