[The post-cholecystectomy syndrome. Evaluation of symptomatology using Tc-99m-HIDA sequential hepatic scintigraphy (cholescintigraphy)].
    Minerva chirurgica, 1997, Volume: 52, Issue:3

The authors comment the data from research on 70 patients with post cholecystectomy syndrome, using cholescintigraphy HIDA 99mTc to evaluate the relation ship between symptomatology (see classific.) and duodenogastric reflux entity. Cholescintigraphy seems to be a valid clinical means, especially for a correct indication to endoscopy.

The diagnosis of hypertonic Oddi's sphincter dyskinesia.
The American journal of gastroenterology, 1983, Volume: 78, Issue:11

The diagnostic possibility of hypertonic Oddi's sphincter dysfunction was evaluated in 100 cholecystectomized and 28 noncholecystectomized patients. An organic lesion interfering with free bile flow was ruled out in every case. The existence of the syndrome, i.e., the dysfunction of the Oddi's musculature, was verified using the morphine-choleretic test combined with either dynamic hepatobiliary scintigraphy or (in selected cases) percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. Hypertonic Oddi's sphincter dyskinesia can be regarded as an independent clinical syndrome.

99mTc-HIDA cholescintigraphy in Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndromes.
    Radiology, 1982, Volume: 142, Issue:3

99mTc-HIDA cholescintigraphy was performed in 6 patients with Dubin-Johnson syndrome and 1 patient with Rotor syndrome. In the patients with Dubin-Johnson syndrome, the cholescintigrams had a characteristic pattern of delayed visualization or nonvisualization of the gallbladder and bile ducts in the presence of intense, homogeneous, and prolonged visualization of the liver. In the patient with Rotor syndrome, the hepatobiliary system was not visualized at all. It is concluded that 99mTc-HIDA cholescintigraphy may be helpful in the diagnosis of Dubin-Johnson syndrome and Rotor syndrome and in the differential diagnosis between these two conditions.

Incidental discovery of asplenia syndrome, with situs inversus and a normal heart by radionuclide biliary imaging. A case report.
    Clinical nuclear medicine, 1982, Volume: 7, Issue:12

Tc-99m biliary imaging was performed on a 34-year-old woman who was being investigated for suspected cholelithiasis. A left-sided liver was detected. On subsequent radionuclide imaging, partial visceral situs inversus and asplenia were demonstrated. Extensive roentgenographic investigation, ECG, echocardiogram, and laparotomy confirmed the radionuclide findings. Asplenia syndrome may exist without cardiovascular abnormalities and thus be undiscovered. Radionuclide imaging is important in the diagnosis of this syndrome.
