[Clinico-physiological and histochemical criteria in the evaluation of the effectiveness of physiotherapy of myotonia].
To improve the peripheral circulation, to exert an antihypoxic action on muscle tissue, to stimulate oxidation processes, to relieve the physiological phase of myorelaxation, and to diminish the intensity of myotonic reactions, 34 patients with myotonia were treated by combined administration of benzohexonium and sodium hydroxybutyrate amplipulse-phoresis. All the patients underwent a comprehensive examination using classical electrodiagnosis, electromyography, electroneuromyography, thermography and histochemical tests. As a result of the treatment, 23 patients (67.7%) demonstrated the positive dynamics of the clinical and electrophysiological parameters.
