Intimate Contact Could Be Dangerous for Your Health.
To review evidence of hypersensitivity reactions to allergens and/or pathogens transmitted via intimate contact.. We reviewed PubMed for publications in English between 1980 and 2018 using the terms allergy, drugs, foods, hypersensitivity, intercourse, kissing, Kounis syndrome, mast cells, and semen.. In human RELATIONSHIPS, intimate contact can occasionally have disastrous or even fatal consequences because antigens and pathogens can be transmitted via the oral and vaginal mucosa. Hypersensitivity to semen is an underrecognized problem. Some individuals also developed acute coronary hypersensitivity, which mimics myocardial infarction, known as Kounis syndrome.. Hypersensitivity reactions to allergens and/or pathogens via intimate contact are common and should be recognized. Sensitive patients should be evaluated for atopic diathesis because such patients may be more susceptible and could also develop Kounis syndrome. An overview of atopic dermatitis: toward a bio-behavioural integration.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, pruritic skin inflammation with suspected pathophysiological and psychological mechanisms. These factors are reviewed along with related treatment approaches. Current medical intervention for AD is palliative and only partially effective. Although encouraging, psychological treatment is not well developed and has not been adequately evaluated. It is concluded that multidisciplinary research is needed so that improved understanding and treatment of AD can be achieved. Prenatal fine particulate exposure and early childhood asthma: Effect of maternal stress and fetal sex.
The impact of prenatal ambient air pollution on child asthma may be modified by maternal stress, child sex, and exposure dose and timing.. Daily PM. Bayesian distributed lag interaction models identified a critical window of exposure (19-23 weeks' gestation, cumulative odds ratio, 1.15; 95% CI, 1.03-1.26; per interquartile range [1.7 μg/m.
