serine and Rhabdomyosarcoma, Alveolar

serine has been researched along with Rhabdomyosarcoma, Alveolar in 2 studies

Serine: A non-essential amino acid occurring in natural form as the L-isomer. It is synthesized from GLYCINE or THREONINE. It is involved in the biosynthesis of PURINES; PYRIMIDINES; and other amino acids.
serine : An alpha-amino acid that is alanine substituted at position 3 by a hydroxy group.

Rhabdomyosarcoma, Alveolar: A form of RHABDOMYOSARCOMA occurring mainly in adolescents and young adults, affecting muscles of the extremities, trunk, orbital region, etc. It is extremely malignant, metastasizing widely at an early stage. Few cures have been achieved and the prognosis is poor. Alveolar refers to its microscopic appearance simulating the cells of the respiratory alveolus. Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"ARMS is characterized by a t(2;13) chromosomal translocation resulting in the fusion of the 5' Pax3 sequences to the 3' FOXO1 sequences to encode the oncogenic fusion protein, Pax3-FOXO1."1.35Phosphorylation of serine 205 by the protein kinase CK2 persists on Pax3-FOXO1, but not Pax3, throughout early myogenic differentiation.
