salicylic acid and Neurofibromatosis 2

salicylic acid has been researched along with Neurofibromatosis 2 in 1 studies

Scalp: The outer covering of the calvaria. It is composed of several layers: SKIN; subcutaneous connective tissue; the occipitofrontal muscle which includes the tendinous galea aponeurotica; loose connective tissue; and the pericranium (the PERIOSTEUM of the SKULL).

Neurofibromatosis 2: An autosomal dominant disorder characterized by a high incidence of bilateral acoustic neuromas as well as schwannomas (NEURILEMMOMA) of other cranial and peripheral nerves, and other benign intracranial tumors including meningiomas, ependymomas, spinal neurofibromas, and gliomas. The disease has been linked to mutations of the NF2 gene (GENES, NEUROFIBROMATOSIS 2) on chromosome 22 (22q12) and usually presents clinically in the first or second decade of life.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Neurofibromatosis type 2 is much less common than neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), with a symptomatic prevalence of 1 in 210,000,(2) and, to the authors' knowledge, only six cases of NF2 with multiple plexiform schwannomas have been reported in the literature."1.32Neurofibromatosis type 2 with multiple plexiform schwannomas.
