reserpine and Adenoma

reserpine has been researched along with Adenoma in 6 studies

Reserpine: An alkaloid found in the roots of Rauwolfia serpentina and R. vomitoria. Reserpine inhibits the uptake of norepinephrine into storage vesicles resulting in depletion of catecholamines and serotonin from central and peripheral axon terminals. It has been used as an antihypertensive and an antipsychotic as well as a research tool, but its adverse effects limit its clinical use.

Adenoma: A benign epithelial tumor with a glandular organization.

"Direct effects of cyproheptadine, reserpine, synthetic ovine corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), dexamethasone, and lysine-8-vasopressin (LVP) on the secretion of immunoreactive ACTH and beta-endorphin from the adenoma and the nonadenomatous tissue of patients with Cushing's disease were examined using a superfusion system."3.66Effects of cyproheptadine, reserpine, and synthetic corticotropin-releasing factor on pituitary glands from patients with Cushing's disease.
