racemethionine and Renal Insufficiency, Chronic

racemethionine has been researched along with Renal Insufficiency, Chronic in 1 studies

Racemethionine: A preparation of METHIONINE that includes a mixture of D-methionine and L-methionine isomers.

Renal Insufficiency, Chronic: Conditions in which the KIDNEYS perform below the normal level for more than three months. Chronic kidney insufficiency is classified by five stages according to the decline in GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE and the degree of kidney damage (as measured by the level of PROTEINURIA). The most severe form is the end-stage renal disease (CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE). (Kidney Foundation: Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiative, 2002)

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"The role of the kidneys in the metabolism and homeostasis of sulfur-containing amino acids is great, so the levels of methionine (Met), total homocysteine (tHcy) and their ratios can be of diagnostic value in chronic kidney disease (CKD), in a course of the arterial hypertension (AH)."4.12Methionine and total homocysteine in hypertensive patients with renal excretory dysfunction.
