rabeprazole and Glioma

rabeprazole has been researched along with Glioma in 1 studies

Rabeprazole: A 4-(3-methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridinyl derivative of timoprazole that is used in the therapy of STOMACH ULCERS and ZOLLINGER-ELLISON SYNDROME. The drug inhibits H(+)-K(+)-EXCHANGING ATPASE which is found in GASTRIC PARIETAL CELLS.

Glioma: Benign and malignant central nervous system neoplasms derived from glial cells (i.e., astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and ependymocytes). Astrocytes may give rise to astrocytomas (ASTROCYTOMA) or glioblastoma multiforme (see GLIOBLASTOMA). Oligodendrocytes give rise to oligodendrogliomas (OLIGODENDROGLIOMA) and ependymocytes may undergo transformation to become EPENDYMOMA; CHOROID PLEXUS NEOPLASMS; or colloid cysts of the third ventricle. "Our data revealed (i) a clinical association of the EMT-like process with glioma malignancy and a poor survival and (ii) an anticancer and temozolomide sensitizing effect of rabeprazole by repressing EMT."8.02Rabeprazole has efficacy per se and reduces resistance to temozolomide in glioma via EMT inhibition.
