[Scintigraphy in detecting suppurative-septic foci in the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space].
Positive results of the use of 99mTc-pyrophosphate in 91.9% of patients with pyoseptic foci of various sites prove a regular character of increased accumulation of this agent in abscesses and permit recommending this method as a screening test in their indefinite localization. If the foci are localized in the liver, positive scintigraphy should be supplemented by negative scintigraphy of the liver, increasing the diagnostic value of radionuclide methods.
