pyridoxal phosphate and Deficiency, Vitamin B 12

pyridoxal phosphate has been researched along with Deficiency, Vitamin B 12 in 8 studies

Pyridoxal Phosphate: This is the active form of VITAMIN B 6 serving as a coenzyme for synthesis of amino acids, neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine), sphingolipids, aminolevulinic acid. During transamination of amino acids, pyridoxal phosphate is transiently converted into pyridoxamine phosphate (PYRIDOXAMINE).
pyridoxal 5'-phosphate : The monophosphate ester obtained by condensation of phosphoric acid with the primary hydroxy group of pyridoxal.

"To research the status of pyridoxal phosphate, folic acid, and cobalamin as part of an examination for hyperhomocysteinemia and to establish their relationship to the results of methionine challenge tests in women, who were tested at least 3 months after they had ended a pregnancy which was complicated by preeclampsia or other vascular-related pregnancy complications."3.77The reliability of methionine challenge test is not affected by a deficiency in pyridoxal phosphate, folic acid, or cobalamin.
