pyridoxal phosphate and Bile Duct Obstruction

pyridoxal phosphate has been researched along with Bile Duct Obstruction in 4 studies

Pyridoxal Phosphate: This is the active form of VITAMIN B 6 serving as a coenzyme for synthesis of amino acids, neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine), sphingolipids, aminolevulinic acid. During transamination of amino acids, pyridoxal phosphate is transiently converted into pyridoxamine phosphate (PYRIDOXAMINE).
pyridoxal 5'-phosphate : The monophosphate ester obtained by condensation of phosphoric acid with the primary hydroxy group of pyridoxal.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"It is known that manganese dipyridoxal diphosphate (Mn-DPDP) causes persisting liver enhancement in cholestatic rats, that free Mn++ plus bilirubin induces intrahepatic cholestasis, and that free Mn++ is released in vivo after Mn-DPDP injection."3.69Effect of manganese dipyridoxal diphosphate on liver magnetic resonance imaging and serum bilirubin in rats with removable biliary obstruction.
