putrescine and Choriocarcinoma

putrescine has been researched along with Choriocarcinoma in 3 studies

Choriocarcinoma: A malignant metastatic form of trophoblastic tumors. Unlike the HYDATIDIFORM MOLE, choriocarcinoma contains no CHORIONIC VILLI but rather sheets of undifferentiated cytotrophoblasts and syncytiotrophoblasts (TROPHOBLASTS). It is characterized by the large amounts of CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN produced. Tissue origins can be determined by DNA analyses: placental (fetal) origin or non-placental origin (CHORIOCARCINOMA, NON-GESTATIONAL).

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" The results indicate that there are 2 significant differences between the choriocarcinoma and the mole: 1) the choriocarcinoma is characterized by increased polyamine and nucleic acid levels, 2) tissues differ in their putrescine:spermidine and spermidine:spermine ratios."3.67Polyamines and nucleic acids in gestational trophoblastic tumors. ( Cecco, L; Cerra, M; Pagnano, AM; Paladini, A; Pasquinelli, R; Romano, M, 1985)
"The development of human tumors is accompanied very often by tumor-associated phenomena such as production of tumor-derived substances, production of certian substances in response to the tumor or immunological reactions."1.26Biological markers of human tumors and monitoring of cancer treatment. ( Nissen, E; Tanneberger, S; Ziegenbein, R, 1979)
