procarbazine and Trypanosomiasis

procarbazine has been researched along with Trypanosomiasis in 1 studies

Procarbazine: An antineoplastic agent used primarily in combination with mechlorethamine, vincristine, and prednisone (the MOPP protocol) in the treatment of Hodgkin's disease.
procarbazine : A benzamide obtained by formal condensation of the carboxy group of 4-[(2-methylhydrazino)methyl]benzoic acid with the amino group of isopropylamine. An antineoplastic chemotherapy drug used for treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma. Metabolism yields azo-procarbazine and hydrogen peroxide, which results in the breaking of DNA strands.

Trypanosomiasis: Infection with protozoa of the genus TRYPANOSOMA.

"Methylating agents, such as streptozotocin, procarbazine, N-methyl-N-nitrosourea, dimethyl sulfate, 1,2-dimethylhydrazine, and a series of 1,2-bis(sulfonyl)-1-methylhydrazines synthesized in this laboratory, were evaluated and shown to be therapeutically active against murine models of African trypanosomiasis."3.68Methylating agents as trypanocides.
