probenecid and Blood Poisoning

probenecid has been researched along with Blood Poisoning in 13 studies

Probenecid: The prototypical uricosuric agent. It inhibits the renal excretion of organic anions and reduces tubular reabsorption of urate. Probenecid has also been used to treat patients with renal impairment, and, because it reduces the renal tubular excretion of other drugs, has been used as an adjunct to antibacterial therapy.
probenecid : A sulfonamide in which the nitrogen of 4-sulfamoylbenzoic acid is substituted with two propyl groups.

"This study aimed to investigate the effect of probenecid (Pro) as an inhibitor of the pannexin-1 (Panx-1) channel-mediated release of intracellular ATP to the extracellular compartment on inflammation, cellular energy crisis, and organ injury in a rabbit sepsis model induced by Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharides (LPS)."7.88The Pannexin-1 Channel Inhibitor Probenecid Attenuates Skeletal Muscle Cellular Energy Crisis and Histopathological Injury in a Rabbit Endotoxemia Model.
