prednisone and Head and Neck Neoplasms

prednisone has been researched along with Head and Neck Neoplasms in 78 studies

Prednisone: A synthetic anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid derived from CORTISONE. It is biologically inert and converted to PREDNISOLONE in the liver.
prednisone : A synthetic glucocorticoid drug that is particularly effective as an immunosuppressant, and affects virtually all of the immune system. Prednisone is a prodrug that is converted by the liver into prednisolone (a beta-hydroxy group instead of the oxo group at position 11), which is the active drug and also a steroid.

Head and Neck Neoplasms: Soft tissue tumors or cancer arising from the mucosal surfaces of the LIP; oral cavity; PHARYNX; LARYNX; and cervical esophagus. Other sites included are the NOSE and PARANASAL SINUSES; SALIVARY GLANDS; THYROID GLAND and PARATHYROID GLANDS; and MELANOMA and non-melanoma skin cancers of the head and neck. Clinical Symptoms Evaluation, Measured Using the LENT-SOMA Scale

"Evaluation of symptoms improvement using the LENT-SOMA scale (Late Effect Normal Tissue Task Force / Subjective, Objective, Management, Analytic scale).~To examine the LENT/SOMA scale prospectively using interviews and questionnaires~Assessments were made from baseline to 1, 3, 6 and 9 months of starting treatments. The acceptability and feasibility of using the scales was examined using compliance in completion of the questionnaires.~Maximum score: 36 Minimum score: 0~Questionnaires have been completed for 24 patients after treatment.
