prednisolone and Meniere Disease

prednisolone has been researched along with Meniere Disease in 16 studies

Prednisolone: A glucocorticoid with the general properties of the corticosteroids. It is the drug of choice for all conditions in which routine systemic corticosteroid therapy is indicated, except adrenal deficiency states.
prednisolone : A glucocorticoid that is prednisone in which the oxo group at position 11 has been reduced to the corresponding beta-hydroxy group. It is a drug metabolite of prednisone.

Meniere Disease: A disease of the inner ear (LABYRINTH) that is characterized by fluctuating SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS; TINNITUS; episodic VERTIGO; and aural fullness. It is the most common form of endolymphatic hydrops.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Since Meniere's disease is thought to be triggered by an immune insult to inner ear hydrops, we examined endolymphatic sac drainage with intra-endolymphatic sac application of large doses of steroids for intractable Meniere's patients and observed long-term results from 2 years to over a decade until 13 years."2.78Long-term results of endolymphatic sac drainage with local steroids for intractable Meniere's disease.
