phentolamine and Prinzmetal Angina

phentolamine has been researched along with Prinzmetal Angina in 7 studies

Phentolamine: A nonselective alpha-adrenergic antagonist. It is used in the treatment of hypertension and hypertensive emergencies, pheochromocytoma, vasospasm of RAYNAUD DISEASE and frostbite, clonidine withdrawal syndrome, impotence, and peripheral vascular disease.
phentolamine : A substituted aniline that is 3-aminophenol in which the hydrogens of the amino group are replaced by 4-methylphenyl and 4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl groups respectively. An alpha-adrenergic antagonist, it is used for the treatment of hypertension.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"In 10 cases of Prinzmetal's angina in which episodes of myocardial ischemia were easily and reproducibly induced by hyperventilation, this test was performed 111 times, 41 times under control conditions and 70 times during treatment with one or more of the following drugs: phentolamine, isosorbide dinitrate, propranolol, verapamil, nifedipine and amiodarone."3.66The hyperventilation test as a method for developing successful therapy in Prinzmetal's angina.
