phentolamine and Arteriosclerosis, Coronary

phentolamine has been researched along with Arteriosclerosis, Coronary in 5 studies

Phentolamine: A nonselective alpha-adrenergic antagonist. It is used in the treatment of hypertension and hypertensive emergencies, pheochromocytoma, vasospasm of RAYNAUD DISEASE and frostbite, clonidine withdrawal syndrome, impotence, and peripheral vascular disease.
phentolamine : A substituted aniline that is 3-aminophenol in which the hydrogens of the amino group are replaced by 4-methylphenyl and 4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl groups respectively. An alpha-adrenergic antagonist, it is used for the treatment of hypertension.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Fractional flow reserve (FFR, calculated by coronary pressure measurements during adenosine-induced hyperaemia) was assessed in 85 patients with an intermediate coronary stenosis (mean diameter stenosis of 50+/-1%) and normal left ventricular function which were divided into the following three groups: (a) 33 patients before and after IC bolus of phentolamine, an alpha1-, alpha2-adrenergic blocker; (b) 32 patients before and after IC bolus of urapidil, a selective alpha1-adrenergic blocker; (c) 20 patients before and after IC bolus of saline."3.72Alpha-adrenergic receptor blockade and hyperaemic response in patients with intermediate coronary stenoses.
