nortriptyline and Neoplasms

nortriptyline has been researched along with Neoplasms in 6 studies

Nortriptyline: A metabolite of AMITRIPTYLINE that is also used as an antidepressive agent. Nortriptyline is used in major depression, dysthymia, and atypical depressions.
nortriptyline : An organic tricyclic compound that is 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d][7]annulene substituted by a 3-(methylamino)propylidene group at position 5. It is an active metabolite of amitriptyline.

Neoplasms: New abnormal growth of tissue. Malignant neoplasms show a greater degree of anaplasia and have the properties of invasion and metastasis, compared to benign neoplasms.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" In addition, characterization of the UGT1A locus and genetic studies directed at understanding the role of bilirubin glucuronidation and the biochemical basis of the clinical symptoms found in unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia have uncovered the structural gene polymorphisms associated with Crigler-Najjar's and Gilbert's syndrome."4.80Human UDP-glucuronosyltransferases: metabolism, expression, and disease. "Nortriptyline promotes cell acidification and suppresses macropinocytosis, providing a link between fatty acid uptake and tumor progression."1.91Stopping the fat: Repurposing an antidepressant for cancer treatment. ( Bhullar, D; Commisso, C, 2023)
"Data collected included demographics, cancer and co-morbid diagnoses, and compliance to antidepressant medication using medication possession ratio (MPR) by patient, medication class, and individual agents."1.37Evaluation of medication compliance in patients on antidepressants at an outpatient tertiary cancer center setting.
