nimodipine has been researched along with Mood Disorders in 4 studies
Nimodipine: A calcium channel blockader with preferential cerebrovascular activity. It has marked cerebrovascular dilating effects and lowers blood pressure.
nimodipine : A dihydropyridine that is 1,4-dihydropyridine which is substituted by methyl groups at positions 2 and 6, a (2-methoxyethoxy)carbonyl group at position 3, a m-nitrophenyl group at position 4, and an isopropoxycarbonyl group at position 5. An L-type calcium channel blocker, it acts particularly on cerebral circulation, and is used both orally and intravenously for the prevention and treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage from ruptured intracranial aneurysm.
Mood Disorders: Those disorders that have a disturbance in mood as their predominant feature.

"Forty three patients with chronic alcoholism of stage II with secondary affective disorders (anxiety, subdepression) and actualization of pathological drive for alcohol in remission period were divided into 3 groups: patients were treated with nimodipine (90 mg/day during 10 days), patients were treated with nifedipine (45 mg/day during 10 days) and patients of control group (they received a placebo for 10 days)." | 5.11 | [The efficacy of calcium channel blockers in the treatment of affective disorders and pathologic drive for alcohol in patients with alcoholism in the remission period].
