nimodipine and Arrhythmia

nimodipine has been researched along with Arrhythmia in 4 studies

Nimodipine: A calcium channel blockader with preferential cerebrovascular activity. It has marked cerebrovascular dilating effects and lowers blood pressure.
nimodipine : A dihydropyridine that is 1,4-dihydropyridine which is substituted by methyl groups at positions 2 and 6, a (2-methoxyethoxy)carbonyl group at position 3, a m-nitrophenyl group at position 4, and an isopropoxycarbonyl group at position 5. An L-type calcium channel blocker, it acts particularly on cerebral circulation, and is used both orally and intravenously for the prevention and treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage from ruptured intracranial aneurysm.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Careful observation of blood pressure and heart rate in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage during therapy with nimodipine showed that blood pressure decreases mainly in hypertensive patients during the first hours of therapy or when treatment is started immediately with 2 mg per hour instead of the recommended initial dose of 1 mg per hour."7.67Blood pressure and heart rate during treatment with nimodipine in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. ( Düdden, P; Dycka, J; Tettenborn, D; Volberg, E, 1985)
" We therefore decided to compare the influence of oral and intravenous administration of furnidipine, nifedipine, nitrendipine and nimodipine to examine their effects on hemodynamics and arrhythmias."3.78Anti-arrhythmic and hemodynamic effects of oxy nifedipine, oxy nimodipine, oxy nitrendipine and oxy nisoldipine. " Three minutes after pretreatment, group 1 (n = 11), group 3 (n = 10), and their respective control groups (n = 11 and n = 9) received intravenous bupivacaine LD50 (median lethal dose)."1.28Nimodipine reduces the toxicity of intravenous bupivacaine in rats.
