n(g),n(g')-dimethyl-l-arginine and Sleep Apnea, Obstructive

n(g),n(g')-dimethyl-l-arginine has been researched along with Sleep Apnea, Obstructive in 8 studies

N,N-dimethylarginine: asymmetric dimethylarginine; do not confuse with N,N'-dimethylarginine

Sleep Apnea, Obstructive: A disorder characterized by recurrent apneas during sleep despite persistent respiratory efforts. It is due to upper airway obstruction. The respiratory pauses may induce HYPERCAPNIA or HYPOXIA. Cardiac arrhythmias and elevation of systemic and pulmonary arterial pressures may occur. Frequent partial arousals occur throughout sleep, resulting in relative SLEEP DEPRIVATION and daytime tiredness. Associated conditions include OBESITY; ACROMEGALY; MYXEDEMA; micrognathia; MYOTONIC DYSTROPHY; adenotonsilar dystrophy; and NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASES. (From Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p395)

"We compared plasma markers of endothelial dysfunction, asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and endothelin-1 (ET-1), and atherosclerosis progression (soluble fraction of the CD40 ligand, sCD40L) in OSAS patients with (n = 23) and without (n = 18) concurrent CV risk factors, as well as in healthy subjects (n = 23)."3.75Increased plasma levels of asymmetric dimethylarginine and soluble CD40 ligand in patients with sleep apnea. "Postocclusive hyperemia is consistently blunted in children with OSA, and such altered endothelial function is reversible 4 to 6 months after treatment, particularly if a family history of cardiovascular disease is not present."2.73Obstructive sleep apnea and endothelial function in school-aged nonobese children: effect of adenotonsillectomy. "Seventy-four patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or overlap syndrome (OS) were recruited from Department of Respirology and Affiliated Sleep Center of our hospital from March 2012 to September 2013."1.40[Effects of continuous positive airway pressure treatment of inflammatory factors in patients with overlap syndrome].
