muscimol has been researched along with Hypercapnia in 15 studies
Muscimol: A neurotoxic isoxazole isolated from species of AMANITA. It is obtained by decarboxylation of IBOTENIC ACID. Muscimol is a potent agonist of GABA-A RECEPTORS and is used mainly as an experimental tool in animal and tissue studies.
muscimol : A member of the class of isoxazoles that is 1,2-oxazol-3(2H)-one substituted by an aminomethyl group at position 5. It has been isolated from mushrooms of the genus Amanita.
Hypercapnia: A clinical manifestation of abnormal increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in arterial blood.

" Bilateral inhibition of the RTN neurons with the GABA(A) agonist muscimol (100 pmol in 50 nl) reduced resting ventilation (52 ± 34, versus saline, 250 ± 56 ml min(-1) kg(-1) with absolute values) and attenuated the respiratory response to hypercapnia and hypoxia." | 3.79 | Control of breathing and blood pressure by parafacial neurons in conscious rats. "We hypothesized that inhibition of the rostral medullary raphe region (MRR), a putative central chemoreceptor location, with the GABA(A) receptor agonist muscimol would decrease ventilatory responses to hypercapnia and hypoxia in conscious rats, and that its known effect at this site on body temperature might alter its effect upon these ventilatory responses." | 3.73 | Ventilatory effects of muscimol microdialysis into the rostral medullary raphé region of conscious rats.
